Services Provided:
In-person Individual Therapy:
General practice that provides individual therapy to adults 25+ with occasional family sessions. PLEASE NOTE: I do not provide couples therapy or work with minors.
Teletherapy:
Teletherapy is the delivery of mental health counseling via the Internet. I utilize audio-video platforms (similar to "Zoom" or "Face-time"). It's a great way to schedule therapy at your convenience and can be done from anywhere. What I love about teletherapy is that it allows me to see people who would otherwise not have access to care. While teletherapy is not for everyone, studies have found that it can be just as effective as in-person sessions.
PLEASE NOTE: I only offer online therapy to those individuals residing in New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

Online Therapy & Telehealth
Telehealth—sometimes called online therapy, virtual therapy, or teletherapy—allows us to meet for therapy through secure video rather than requiring you to travel to an office.
For many people, online therapy provides a convenient way to fit treatment into everyday life while still receiving individualized therapy.
I currently provide telehealth to adults who are physically located in New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, or Florida at the time of their appointment.

Does Insurance Cover Online Therapy? Is There an Additional Charge for Telehealth?
Many health insurance plans cover psychotherapy delivered through telehealth. However, coverage varies by insurance company and by your individual plan.
Some insurance plans may apply a different copay, coinsurance, or deductible to telehealth services than they do to in-person therapy. Because benefits can vary considerably between plans, the best way to know what you will owe is to contact your insurance company and ask about your outpatient mental health benefits for both telehealth and in-person psychotherapy.
I do not charge an additional fee simply because a session is conducted through telehealth. Your responsibility will depend on your insurance benefits or the agreed-upon self-pay rate.
How Do I Access My Online Therapy Session?
Sessions take place through a secure video platform that you can access using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Before your appointment, you'll receive the information needed to access your session. At your scheduled time, simply connect from a private location with a reliable internet connection.
Is Online Therapy as Effective as In-Person Therapy?
For many people and many mental health concerns, online therapy can be just as effective as therapy delivered in person.*
A large 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis compared therapist-guided remote Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with in-person CBT. Researchers examined 54 randomized controlled trials involving 5,463 participants across conditions including anxiety and related disorders, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, body image and eating disorders, and other concerns.
The researchers found little to no difference in effectiveness between therapist-guided remote CBT and in-person CBT.* CMAJ
Online sessions can incorporate many of the same approaches I use in person, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EMDR, when clinically appropriate.
Is Online Therapy Right for Me?
Telehealth works very well for many people, but it isn't necessarily the best option for every person or every situation.
It can be particularly convenient if you have a busy schedule, live farther from the office, have difficulty traveling, or simply prefer participating in therapy from your own environment.
For online therapy, you'll need a private place to talk, a reliable internet connection, and a device with video and audio.
Certain symptoms, safety concerns, crises, or treatment needs may make in-person treatment or a different level of care more appropriate. We can discuss your individual circumstances and determine whether online therapy is appropriate for your needs.
Can Exposure Therapy and ERP Be Done Online?
Yes. Telehealth can actually provide some unique opportunities for Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and other forms of exposure therapy.
Because you're participating from your own environment, we may be able to work directly with situations, objects, thoughts, or experiences that trigger anxiety or OCD in your everyday life.
Depending on your treatment plan, we may conduct exposures together during a video session, develop exposures for you to practice between sessions, or arrange limited in-person or real-world exposure work when clinically appropriate.
Where Do I Need to Be Located for an Online Therapy Session?
For me to provide telehealth services, you must be physically located in one of the states where I am licensed or otherwise authorized to practice at the time of your appointment.
I currently provide online therapy to adults located in:
New Jersey • New York • Illinois • Pennsylvania • Florida
This refers to where you are physically located during the session, not simply where you live.
If you're traveling outside one of these states, please let me know before your appointment so we can determine whether I am permitted to conduct the session.
What Are Your Policies Regarding Telehealth?
Most of my regular practice policies apply to both online and in-person therapy.
For telehealth appointments, you must be physically located in New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, or Florida at the time of your session.
You may be asked to confirm your physical location at the beginning of the appointment. You must also provide an emergency contact and sufficient location information so that appropriate assistance can be contacted in the event of an emergency.
A valid credit card is kept on file for applicable copays, deductibles, coinsurance, cancellation fees, or other patient-responsibility amounts.
Is Online Therapy Private and Secure?
I use a secure video platform designed for healthcare services and take reasonable steps to protect your privacy and confidentiality.
As with any technology that uses the internet, no electronic system can guarantee absolute security. You can also help protect your privacy by participating from a private location, using a secure internet connection, wearing headphones when appropriate, and making sure other people cannot overhear your session.
If you have questions about privacy, technology, or how online therapy works, please feel free to ask before beginning treatment.
Interested in Online Therapy?
If you're considering therapy and aren't sure whether you'd prefer online or in-person sessions, we can discuss which option makes the most sense for your needs.
