Living with OCD can be exhausting—and for many men, it can also feel incredibly isolating. OCD often convinces us that no one else has the same thoughts, fears, or compulsions we do. It tells us to keep everything inside, to figure it out on our own, and to hide the struggle. This group is designed to challenge that isolation by bringing together men who understand what it's like to live with OCD.

Each month, we'll combine support, education, and practical strategies in a welcoming, judgment-free environment. You'll have the opportunity to connect with other men who "get it," learn more about how OCD works, and discuss topics that are directly relevant to everyday life. Discussions may include rumination and mental compulsions, relationship OCD (ROCD) and dating, contamination fears, intrusive thoughts, perfectionism, uncertainty, why Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) works, how to stop seeking reassurance, and managing OCD at work, in school, and with family.

Whether you've been in treatment for years or are just beginning your recovery journey, this group offers a place to ask questions, share experiences, and learn evidence-based skills that can help you move toward the life you want. Participation is always encouraged, but never pressured—you can speak as much or as little as you're comfortable with.

Have you ever found yourself asking questions like:

  • "Why can't I stop thinking about this?"

  • "Am I doing ERP correctly?"

  • "How do I know when I'm ruminating?"

  • "How do I date when OCD makes me question every relationship?"

  • "Does anyone else struggle with these thoughts?"

  • "How do I stop needing certainty?"

  • "What actually helps people recover from OCD?"

If you've asked yourself any of these questions, you're not alone. Join us on the third Thursday of each month for meaningful conversation, practical tools, and the opportunity to connect with other men who understand the unique challenges of living with OCD.

To be included in this group, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be 21+ years old

  • Willingness to explore and talk about your struggles with OCD

  • Those struggling with psychosis, severe personality disorders, severe pathology, significant cognitive impairment, and significant neurodevelopmental challenges.

  • Those outside of New Jersey, New York, Illinois, Florida, or Pennsylvania.

Details:

This is a free, open, ongoing group, meaning new members may join at any time as space permits. There is no requirement to attend every month—you are welcome to participate in a single session or return regularly based on your needs.

The group will run regardless of attendance, whether there is one participant or fifteen. Smaller groups often allow for more individualized discussion, while larger groups provide the opportunity to hear a wider variety of experiences and perspectives.

Each session will typically include:

  • Check-In: Brief updates from members.

  • Member Spotlight: One or two participants will have dedicated time to discuss a current OCD-related challenge, ask questions, or receive support and feedback from the group.

  • Psychoeducational Topic: Each meeting will feature a discussion on a topic relevant to OCD recovery, such as rumination, mental compulsions, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), relationship OCD (ROCD), perfectionism, intrusive thoughts, reassurance seeking, uncertainty, or relapse prevention.

  • Questions & Discussion: Members are encouraged to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from one another in a supportive, recovery-focused environment.

This is not a traditional process group or a lecture. Instead, it combines peer support, evidence-based education, and practical discussion designed specifically for men living with OCD.

To help keep the group therapeutically effective, facilitators may redirect conversations that become focused on reassurance seeking or attempts to achieve certainty. The goal is not to eliminate anxiety during group, but to help members build confidence in responding to OCD differently.

Participation is always encouraged but never required. Members are welcome to listen, learn, and share at whatever level feels comfortable.
